Ich bin Regisseur und VFX-Experte, und ich helfe unabhängigen Filmproduktionen dabei, KI dort einzusetzen, wo sie der Geschichte dient: in der Entwicklung, auf dem Set, in der Post. Und überall dazwischen.

Historical stories. Alien planets. Worlds that existed only in imagination or inside a gigantic CGI pipeline. AI makes all of this possible, faster than we could dream up in the wildest screenplay.

I'm a director, VFX expert and creative generalist, and I've been working at the edge of what's technically possible since the very beginning. Today I advise film productions on how to use AI not as a replacement, but as a genuine extension: for images that were simply unthinkable before.

Hollywood fürchtet KI, verständlich, aber aus den falschen Gründen. KI ersetzt keine Filmemacher:innen, keine Schauspieler:innen, keine gropßartigen Geschichtenerzähler:innen*. Sie macht Geschichten möglich, die vorher schlicht nicht realisierbar waren: weil die Location nicht existiert, weil keine Kamera diese Einstellung erreicht, weil das Budget nicht für genau diese eine Szene reicht, auf die der ganze Film eigentlich hinausläuft.

Das ist nicht mehr Zukunft. Das passiert jetzt.

Hollywood fears AI, understandable, but for the wrong reasons. AI won't replace filmmakers, actors or great storytellers*. It makes stories possible that simply couldn't be told before: because the set defies the laws of physics, because no camera can reach that angle, because the effects would have blown any budget.

This is not the future anymore. This is happening right now.

Manchmal ist das Werkzeug Teil der Geschichte, wenn das Ungesehene selbst die Attraktion ist. Meistens aber entscheidet die Geschichte über das Werkzeug: was gebraucht wird, wo KI hilft und wo sie im Weg steht.

Ich berate euch als Filmemacher, mit Respekt vor dem Handwerk und dem Wissen, wo diese Technologie wirklich etwas verändern wird, und wo sie eure Arbeit revolutionieren kann.

Ich bin David Aufdembrinke, Regisseur, VFX-Experte, kreativer Generalist. Ich habe als Kind in Systemen gedacht und diese programmiert, erste Filme gedreht, später Motion-Design-Departments geleitet, Drehbücher geschrieben, Werbefilme inszeniert für Marken wie McDonald's, Smart, Telekom, Coca-Cola und Under Armour. Das Kino hat mich nie losgelassen, die Arbeit mit Crews, das Handwerk, die Frage wie man eine Geschichte so erzählt, dass sie bleibt.

KI-Beratung für Film gibt es zunehmend von Tech-Spezialisten und Software-Anbietern. Was Studio Aufdembrinke einzigartig macht: Die Beratung kommt von einem Regisseur. Von jemandem, der weiß, wie eine Szene funktioniert, bevor er entscheidet, mit welchem Werkzeug sie realisiert wird. Ich berate Produktionen nicht als Software-Berater, sondern als Filmemacher, der dieselben Fragen stellt und Arbeisweisen kennt.

I'm David Aufdembrinke, director, AI and VFX expert, creative generalist. As a child I thought in systems and programmed them, made early films, later led motion design departments, wrote screenplays and directed commercials for brands including McDonald's, Smart, Telekom, Coca-Cola and Under Armour. Through this blend of cinéaste and technical generalist, I've spent twenty years at the intersection of classical filmmaking craft and the possibilities of tomorrow.

AI consulting for film is increasingly offered by tech specialists and software vendors. What makes Studio Aufdembrinke unique: the advice comes from a director. From someone who knows how a scene works before deciding which tool to use to achieve it. I advise productions not as a software consultant, but as a filmmaker who asks the same questions and knows the work.

AI isn't a tool to me, it's a development that's changing every area of our work. I lead Studio Aufdembrinke and advise filmmakers with respect for the craft and the knowledge of where this technology genuinely helps, and where it serves the storytelling.
